Georgia parents forgive their sons who tried to kill them

The parents of two brothers, Christopher Ervin, 22 and Cameron Ervin, 17, who savagely beat and stabbed them in their home say they have forgiven their sons.
"Those were not our boys that did that to us. We did not raise them that way" Yvonne Ervin told WSB-TV exclusively. "We forgive our sons, we love them unconditionally" their dad Zachery Ervin added. "We have to make sure that they understand that to strengthen themselves." The two still bear the scars from the attack.
The boys attacked their parents on Sept. 5th and are currently awaiting trial for attempted murder...

"We understand there are consequences for what they did,” Yvonne told WSB-TV. “They understand that, but we’re just praying the world forgives them in the same way we forgive them.”
The brothers face two felony counts of aggravated assault in addition to arson charges for trying to blow up the house to conceal their crimes. They are also accused of drugging their parents.

Statement on abduction of Chief Olu Falae - FFK

Statement from chief Femi Fani-Kayode. Read below...
The abduction of Chief Olu Falae is not only unacceptable but it also an exceptionally dangerous development. I say this because he is not only an elder-statesman of our country but he is also one of the most revered leaders of Afenifere and the south-west. We cannot sit by idly and watch our leaders and elders being endangered, shamed and humiliated in this way.
It is the governments job to keep us all safe and secure and they are failing in that duty. I call on the President and our security agencies to effect the expeditious and immediate release of Chief Olu Falae. They must rescue him from these vagabonds and vandals as soon as possible before things get out of hand. Let it be clearly understood that if anything happens to him and if he doesn't come home hale and hearty we will hold the Federal Government responsible and there will be consequences. Those that are in power would do well to take what I have said very seriously.

Okonjo-Iweala appointed Chair-elect of Gavi board, a multilateral Public-Private Partnership on vaccines

Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has accepted to serve as Chair of the 28-member Board of the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation, GAVI, an international public-private partnershipcommitted to saving the lives of children and and protecting people's health by improving access to immunization in developing countries.

Official announcement by Gavi Internationally renowned development economist and former Nigerian Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has been appointed Chair-elect of the Board of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance. She will take up the position of Chair from January 2016.

Dr Okonjo-Iweala will bring more than 33 years of development and financial expertise to the Gavi Board at a critical period for immunisation in developing countries. Despite record coverage rates, every year around 19 million children are still missing out on a full course of the most basic vaccines. Additionally, more than 20 countries with growing economies are preparing to transition from Gavi support by 2020, meaning they will take on the full cost of their immunisation programmes.

Increased access to immunisation has been a major factor in the 53% fall in child mortality between 1990 and 2015. Gavi currently supports more than 310 immunisation programmes in 73 of the world’s poorest countries and has so far committed US$ 1.2 billion towards helping them to strengthen their health systems. Since 2000, Gavi has supported the immunisation of more than half a billion additional children, leading to seven million future deaths being averted.

Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Chair-elect of the Board of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance
Over the next five years, Gavi aims to support countries to immunise an additional 300 million children, leading to a further five to six million lives being saved. Vaccine Alliance support will also see a 10-fold increase in the proportion of children in Gavi-supported countries receiving all 11 vaccines recommended by WHO – rising from 5% today to 50% by 2020.

"I am excited to be joining Gavi during this crucial time," said Dr Okonjo-Iweala. "Gavi has a well-earned reputation as one of the leading players in global health, providing services that underpin human and economic development. We must build on this solid foundation to create sustainable programmes that will drive down vaccine-preventable diseases, reach every child and provide them with a sound basis for their futures."

Dr Okonjo-Iweala has twice served as Finance Minister in Nigeria, most recently between 2011 and 2015 with the expanded portfolio of the Coordinating Minister for the Economy. She has also held several key positions at the World Bank, most recently as Managing Director.

Dr Okonjo-Iweala currently serves on the board of the Rockefeller Foundation and ONE, among others. She is chair of African Risk Capacity, and the recipient of numerous honors including honorary doctorate degrees from Yale, University of Pennsylvania and Brown. She was named by Fortune magazine as one of the 50 greatest world leaders 2015, and by Forbes for five consecutive years as one of the 100 most powerful women in the world. In 2014, Dr Okonjo-Iweala was recognised by Time magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world.

Dr Okonjo-Iweala graduated with an A.B. magna cum laude in Economics from Harvard University, and holds a PhD in Regional Economics and Development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Dr Okonjo-Iweala was chosen through a Board-managed competitive international search process.
In taking up the position of Board Chair, Dr Okonjo-Iweala will succeed Dagfinn HøybrÃ¥ten, a former Norwegian Minister of Health and current Secretary General of the Nordic Council of Ministers.

Mr HøybrÃ¥ten, who joined the Board in 2006 as an independent member and was appointed Chair in 2010, has guided Gavi through an unprecedented acceleration of new vaccine introductions in developing countries. Today, more children than ever are being protected against major killers like pneumonia and severe diarrhoea.

The speed of vaccine introductions during Mr HøybrÃ¥ten’s tenure has put Gavi firmly on course to reach its five year target of supporting developing countries to immunise nearly a quarter of a billion additional children between 2011 and 2015.
Mr HøybrÃ¥ten chaired Gavi through successful pledging events in London and Berlin, in 2011 and 2015 respectively, which together secured pledges for childhood immunisation in developing countries totalling almost $12 billion.

As Chair, he also oversaw deliberations that led to key Board decisions on funding for new vaccines including the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine and inactivated polio vaccine (IPV) into the routine immunisation systems of Gavi-supported countries.

"I am proud to have played my part in the unprecedented increase in the number of children in developing countries who have access to vaccines," said Mr HøybrÃ¥ten. "Gavi’s success in improving health and reducing illness and death lies in our ability to work collaboratively on complex immunisation challenges. I wish Dr Okonjo-Iweala every success and I look forward to the next exciting chapter in the Gavi story."

Groom Caught Raping Wife's Chief Bridesmaid [Pics]

One is left speechless at the sheer madness of it all.

A 29-year-old groom was arrested and jailed for seven years after he was convicted for raping a guest in his house as his bride slept next door.

The guest was surprisingly his wife’s chief bridesmaid and best friend and the experience still haunts her which made her speak up.

Daniel Howard, who was serving in the Royal Army Medical Corps denied the rape initially, claiming that she used his sex toy which was why there was forensic evidence but his claims were dismissed by the jury at Teesside crown court UK, and convicted him within 90 minutes with overwhelming evidence.

Howard got married to April Broadgate at a lavish ceremony in August 2015.

Mirror UK reports that the friendship between Broadgate and her chief bridesmaid crashed after the crime was revealed.

Just three weeks before his trial, the new wife, who reportedly refused to believe her husband had carried out the assault, went ahead with her wedding.

The victim whose identity was withheld said: “I couldn’t go anywhere alone. My mum had to be in the bathroom with me when she came around and washed my hair for me as I was too exhausted to do it myself.

“I still have anxiety attacks where I’ll break down in tears and ring a friend crying for no reason whatsoever. This will always be part of my life that I have to learn to deal with.

“I don’t think I will ever fully recover. I’ve been on sleeping pills prescribed by the doctor for a number of months. I constantly think about what happened and often have flashbacks to that night.

“It sounds silly but I’m frightened someone will come and get me again, and no-one will know. I had a good job, a strong relationship, a bright future, a plan for a house. I just feel damaged and broken.”

"It Is None Of Your Business What I Have Between My Legs!"- Nigerian Transgender Slams Bloggers - See more at: http://www.lailasblog.com/2015/09/it-is-none-of-your-business-what-i-have.html#sthash.MoJN7NAt.dpuf

Nigerian Transgender, Miss Sahhara has gone on the defensive, taking to her face book page to slam bloggers who claim she just had her 'eggplants' (testicles) removed recently.

Miss Sahhara, who is a beauty queen claims she had her sex reassignment surgery done years ago. Read what she wrote on facebook page below:

“… I had my gender reassignment surgery years ago, not that it is your business to know what I have between my legs......no one was born a man or a woman. You are born male, female or intersex. You are assigned assumed preferred gender at birth by the hospital. Then you grow up as a boy or a girl based on the gender you are assigned, you become a teenager, and an adult subsequently 'Man or woman'. I lived part of my teenage life and all my adult life as a female. Saying she/he was born a 'Man or woman' is stupid and ignorant! i have always been a female. my brain, voice, mannerisms & appearance are all female. i didnt have any sudden epiphany to self discovery after living in one gender all my life as some of these bloggers may think...Perhaps, is the reason why I am effortlessly womanly .........Educate yourselves on your subject before you write. Fools!”

Her rsponse so funny.

Waka Flacka slams Caitlyn Jenner/transgender people, then apologizes

Last week during an interview with The Breakfast Club, rapper Waka Flocka Flame slammed the transgender community, saying they, including Caitlyn Jenner were rebuking God and allowing the devil to control their thoughts.
"I ain’t saying nothing against like a Bruce Jenner, you follow me, you are who you are when God made you, not who you became after he did. That’s how I just feel. You rebuking God. God ain’t put those feelings in you, that’s the devil playing tricks on your mind. That’s a test from God.”
Of course, there was heavy backlash and Waka later apologized and clarified his statement. See that below..

'I will be at the Tribunal tomorrow' - Saraki says

Senate President Bukola Saraki says he will be at the Code of Conduct Tribunal tomorrow September 22nd as a mark of respect for the rule of law. He said this in a statement he released this afternoon on his Facebook page
The Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki will appear before the Code of Conduct Tribunal tomorrow Tuesday 22nd of September 2015. While the Senate President Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, had stated and maintained that he is ready to submit himself to due process of the law on any issue concerning him, he also believes that he has an inalienable right to resort to the same judiciary for protection when he feels his fundamental rights are about to be infringed upon.
The Senate President is a law abiding citizen and his absence from tribunal was based on legal advice he received from his counsel that it is not necessary for him to appear before the tribunal at this stage since the jurisdiction of the tribunal and the process of initiating the matter are being challenged before the federal High Court Abuja.

Following the adjournment for the determination of the motion on notice and the substantive suit before the Federal High Court to 30th of September and the appeal pending before the Court of Appeal adjourned to the 29th of September 2015, the Senate President has decided, as a law abiding citizen, to appear before the Tribunal in the interim.

Dr. Saraki has taken the decision to attend the Tribunal sitting to demonstrate his respect for the rule of law in spite of his personal reservation on the process of his trial and the purpose it may be intended to serve.

Dr. Saraki wishes to assure Nigerians of his absolute belief in the judicial process and is therefore confident that the course of justice would be served at the end of this matter.
