The Portuguese boss was sacked this afternoon after club owner Roman Abramovich and board had series of emergency meetings last night. Mourinho's last match in charge was the disastrous 2-1 loss to Leicester city and with rumours of player unrest in the media, the club have acted and sacked him.

Pres. Buhari to attend inauguration of Burkina Faso's newly elected President


President Muhammadu Buhari has confirmed he will be attending the inauguration of President Roch Marc Christian Kabore of Burkina Faso on Dec. 29. The president disclosed this at a joint press briefing with the Interim President of Burkina Faso, Michel Kafando, after their closed door meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Wednesday, December 16. He said that his decision to witness the event followed a special invitation extended to him by the out-going interim president.

FG promises to pay salaries of Federal civil servants before Christmas


The office of the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF) has promised that the Federal government will endeavor to pay the salaries of all Federal civil servants before the Christmas holiday. Federal High Court orders immediate release of Biafran leader, Nnamdi Kanu


The Federal High Court Abuja has ordered the DSS to immediately release the director of the Indigenous People of Biafra and director of Biafran radio, Nnamdi Kanu. Justice Niyi Ademola at a hearing of a case filed against the Federal government by his lawyer this morning, said Kanu was being held unlawfully by DSS and should be freed immediately.

CAN protests moves to list Nigeria among Arab nations to fight ISIS


The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has protested moves by the Saudi Arabian government to tag Nigeria as a Muslim country in its yet to be formed coalition of 34 Muslim/Arab countries to fight terrorism. Saudi's Foreign minister Adel al-Jubeir yesterday announced that Saudi Arabia has formed a coalition of 34 mainly Muslim countries including powers such as Egypt and Turkey to coordinate a fight against "terrorist organisations".

Floyd Mayweather splashes $1.1m on Hublot diamond wristwatch


The retired boxing champion who got about $300m from fights this year, splashed about $1.1m on a diamond wristwatch during his trip to Dubai. NLC frowns at proposed increase of petrolum price


The Nigeria Labor Congress (NLC) has frowned at the plan by the Federal government to remove fuel subsidy and increase Fuel pump price. Minister of State for Petroleum resources, Ibe Kachiukwu had on Monday December 14th, hinted that the Federal government will from next year begin a gradual phasing off of the subsidy scheme and then increase fuel pump price to N97.

Samuel Eto'o becomes coach of Turkish club Antalyaspor


Former Barcelona, Chelsea, Inter Milan and Everton Striker has been appointed coach of Turkish side Antalyaspor, after the departure of head coach Yusuf Simsek. MBA graduate arrested four days after randomly stabbing a stranger in a Toronto drugstore


On Tuesday afternoon, Toronto police arrested Rohinie Bisesar, an MBA and financial district regular, and charged her with attempted murder. Police believe Bisesar walked into a downtown drugstore Friday afternoon and hacked a knife into a stranger’s chest, wounding her grievously. Then she walked away.

Two arrested for $50k Internet fraud


In a press statement released by EFCC Head, Media & Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday December 15, 2015, arraigned Aigbe Joseph (alias Anthony Styler Malan) and Dennis Igbinoba (aka David Clark, Engr. Phil Anderson, Engr. Tim Hilton, Engr. Williams Clark) before Justice A. M Liman of the Federal High Court, sitting in Benin, Edo State on separate count charges bordering on Internet fraud and obtaining money by false pretence.
 Joseph and Dennis were arrested in Benin City, Edo State following intelligence report on their involvement in internet scams. Laptop computers and phones were recovered from their homes during a search by EFCC operatives. In his confessional statement, Joseph said he had been involved in several internet fraud and collected the sum of ($50,000) Fifty Thousand United State Dollars from one Destiny, an America citizen.

Azealia Banks arrested after allegedly biting the breast of a female security guard

According to E! News rapper, Azealia Banks was arrested early Wednesday morning after allegedly assaulting a female security guard outside Meatpacking club Up&Down.
A witness at the venue said that the 24-year-old was not invited to the party but came with an invited guest.

When Azealia tried to go downstairs to the party, security turned her away and told her she had to get a stamp to enter. Azealia got upset about this, but ended up getting stamped and gained access into the private party.

Once inside, it appeared that she was offended that the security did not know who she was or recognize her as a celebrity. This resulted in an altercation, which another insider said involved her spitting in the owner's face, and it ultimately led to her being escorted out by the female security guard who became the victim of Banks' alleged assault.
The New York Police Department said that at 12:46 a.m., Banks was escorted out of the venue "when she became verbally abusive and began to push the victim and bit the victim on the breast, causing swelling and redness."

Authorities added that she "was arrested and charged with assault, disorderly conduct and harassment."
 
Banks was released Wednesday evening after seeing the judge.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Girlfriend welcome baby girl


The Rock's girlfriend Lauren Hashian gave birth to a healthy baby girl on Wednesday, sources confirmed to E! News. This is the first child for the couple together and the second for Dwayne, who has a 14-year-old daughter named Simone with ex-wife Dany Garcia.
