Akpabio Senator confesses that Jonathan used to give PDP cash

Godswill-Akpabio

Senator Godswill Akpabio has revealed that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) used to get cash from President Goodluck Jonathan while he was in office.
Akpabio made the revelation while speaking on the ongoing battle between the PDP and its workers over election funds.

He said, according to The Nation:
“We can no longer run to the Villa for cash so we don’t have the wherewithal to maintain that large number of secretariat staff.”
“The workers should understand that they are in a master-servant relationship in which you cannot force an unwilling master to keep a recalcitrant servant. We are definitely going to downsize.”
The PDP and its workers are currently at loggerheads over the party’s plan to sack some of the employees and slash the salaries of the remaining.
The workers in turn accused the party’s leadership of squandering N12bn in funds generated during the 2015 elections.
The PDP lost its position as Nigeria's ruling party after Jonathan suffered defeat at the hands of All Progressives Congress(APC) candidate and now President, Muhammadu Buhari.
