Hit-and-run Biker 'Leaves Pedestrian for Dead' then Discovers It's His Own Mother

A biker who sped off after running over a woman was horrified when he discovered the victim he left on the street was actually his MOTHER.

Motorcyclist Xiong Ku had been in such a panic when he ran over the woman that he even refused to allow his 10-year-old son, who was a passenger to call for an ambulance, officers claimed.

The 45-year-old insisted that the boy get back on the bike and sped off.

When police contacted Xiong later, he thought it was about the accident, but in fact it was to tell him 
that his own elderly mother had been run over and killed by a hit-and-run driver.

When they told him the details, he realised that he was the one that had killed his own mother, and the next day he turned himself in.

Police spokesman Jian Hu said:

"The man surnamed Xiong was on his way home from his in-laws’ with his 10-year-old son when his motorcycle accidentally crashed into two elderly women due to dim lights and the fact that he was speeding in the city of Daye, in central China’s Hubei Province. 

In a state of panic, Xiong grabbed his son – who tried to help the two victims – and got back on his bike before speeding away from the scene of the crash."

The officer said that when rescuers arrived at the scene, they found that one of the two seniors, who the driver had not realised was his own mother, had been killed on the spot.

Police then began investigating the case and put out posters to find the hit-and-run driver, releasing information about the deceased and offering a reward for information.

They called off the search when Xiong handed himself in and confessed.

He was arrested and is currently awaiting trial,
